The night in Galicia that you won't stop watching

When night falls over Galicia, the moon takes over the sky and its silvery light bathes the landscape. The trails of cars draw lines of light that cut through the darkness, creating hypnotic scenes that only attentive eyes can capture.

Photographer Jose Lorenzo Valdivia has captured this essence like few others. With his camera, he invites us to see what is not visible to the naked eye. Each image is a window into a different Galicia, a Galicia that moves and illuminates under the watchful eye of the moon.

The Night in Galicia
The Rande Bridge

The Rande Bridge, seen from Cesantes beach, is pure magic.

The Rande Bridge, seen from Cesantes Beach, is pure nighttime magic. From this perspective, the full moon seems to have been precisely placed in the center of the bridge, as if it were part of its architecture. Its reddish glow colors the night, while car lights draw swift trails that run across the bridge from one end to the other.

This spot is one of the most iconic in Galicia, and seeing it under a full moon makes for an unforgettable experience. The calm water and the power of the moving bridge combine to create one of those images that stay etched in your memory.

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows under the full moon.

Under a full moon, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows becomes a picture-postcard worthy of framing. The silhouette of the chapel, flanked by a solitary tree, projects a serenity that contrasts with the car lights in the distance.

It's easy to imagine yourself standing there, feeling the night breeze while the moon illuminates every corner with its soft light, just as Lorenzo did to capture this moment.

The Deer of Vilanova de Cerveira.

The Deer of Vilanova de Cerveira stands facing the Miño River.

From Tomiño, you can see the imposing figure of the Vilanova de Cerveira Deer, located on the other side of the Miño River. This steel deer stands as a guardian of the natural border between Spain and Portugal. With the almost full moon watching from above, the scene resembles a perfectly rehearsed choreography.

These images, captured by Jose Lorenzo Valdivia, are part of Hi Galicia's first collaboration with a photographer, reaffirming its commitment to showcasing the beauty of this land in a new light.
